Yes, like 95% of the rest of the web, we use cookies.  If you’re not OK with that then you probably need to read up on cookies.  They’re necessary.  Yes, they can be misused, but on the whole, they are a force for good.  Just like Jedis.

If there are adverts on a page, then the advert server will likely use a cookie in order to show you relevant ads (rather than irrelevant ads, which are completely pointless, if you think about it).

Just imagine: one day, search engines won’t even bother asking you for a search term, they’ll just know what it is you’re after and at that point, the ‘ads’ will become ‘search results’.  Wooahhh!  Probably not for a while, admittedly, but it’s fun to imagine.
